Cavities in baby teeth are very common in children. It is important to fill cavities in baby teeth so that the cavities do not progress. Untreated cavities can lead to dental pain, dental infection or premature loss of the baby teeth, with the consequent effect on the alignment and spacing of the remaining baby teeth or even the permanent replacement.
To fill small/medium cavities, we place esthetic white dental fillings. When cavities in baby teeth are very large, and cannot be adequately restored with a white fillings, we will place crowns. Crowns are caps that fit over the tooth and provide full coverage and protection for the baby tooth. Crowns can be made of stainless steel, plastic or zirconia.
