Pediatric dentistry, or dentistry for children, encompasses a variety of disciplines, techniques, procedures, and skills that share common basis with other specialties, but are modified and adapted to the special needs of infants, children, adolescents and those with special health care needs.

Preventive treatment

We are not a “drill and fill” office. As such, we place a strong emphasis on prevention. The main goal of preventive treatment is to minimize dental caries, and to prevent malocclusions (crooked teeth).

restoration treatment

The permanent molars are the most common teeth on which dental sealants are placed. In many cases, it is nearly impossible for children to clean the tiny deep and narrow grooves on the chewing surface of their back teeth.

Restorative Treatment

Cavities in baby teeth are very common in children. It is important to fill cavities in baby teeth so that the cavities do not progress. Untreated cavities can lead to dental pain, dental infection.

Nitrous Oxide Sedation

Most children are calm, comfortable and confident in a pediatric dental office. The office is designed for young people, and pediatric dentists have additional training in caring for infants, children and adolescents.

Oral Sedation

For patients who are slightly more anxious, uncooperative or for whom an uncomfortable procedure is anticipated, oral sedation is a great option. It provides more anxiety reduction than laughing gas alone

anesthesia Dentistry

General Anesthesia

General anesthesia is a controlled state of unconsciousness that eliminates awareness, movement and discomfort during dental treatment. All of your child’s treatment needs will be completed while he/she is asleep in one appointment.

“I have taken my child to 3 other dentists. No one was able to deal with my active little guy. The doctors and staff at Kids Dentist Richmond Hill were all very caring and gave my son the attention and time that he needed to feel comfortable. He now asks when he can go back to see the dentist!”
